FAQ & SERVICE
You don't buy a work of art every day.
Here you will find answers regarding editions, production, hanging, shipping, and service. If your question is not included, please write to us. We will be happy to help you personally.
WORKS & EDITIONS
Every piece from Expedition in Light is limited to 12 copies worldwide. Once the edition of a motif is completely sold out, it will not be reissued. The intentionally small print run ensures the lasting rarity of the work, underscores its collectible nature, and may contribute to its long-term value retention.
Yes. Every copy within its edition is uniquely numbered.
Yes. Every work comes with a personally signed certificate of authenticity, which documents the subject, work ID, and edition. The certificate is sent separately by mail and is not included in the shipment with the artwork. As a result, the artwork and the certificate may arrive at different times.
Yes. The works are signed and numbered.
Yes. The limitation refers to the motif, not the individual format. Regardless of the size chosen, there are only 12 copies of each work in total worldwide.
The FA number is the unique catalogue number within the Expedition in Light catalogue. It serves for the permanent identification of the motif and can be found in the catalogue raisonné.
TECHNOLOGY & EXECUTION
The special UltraHD sharpening ensures that high-resolution image files are optimized for exceptionally sharp prints. It is designed for professional shots and supports the detailed reproduction of fine structures.
WhiteWall uses professional Epson systems for fine art prints; a dedicated ICC color profile is also available for fine art pigment prints behind acrylic glass.
The works are produced as photo art behind glossy acrylic glass in an UltraHD finish. This finish supports a particularly clear, brilliant, and highly detailed image effect.
As with high-quality photographic art in general, we recommend a location away from prolonged, intense direct sunlight, extreme heat, or high humidity. This ensures that the surface and color reproduction are preserved in the best possible condition for the long term.
The glossy acrylic glass enhances the depth, contrast, and color intensity of the image, making it particularly suitable for the detailed landscape and night shots of Expedition in Light.
MANUFACTURING & MATERIAL
The works of Expedition in Light are produced in a fine art laboratory in Germany. For my work, the execution is part of the image. Therefore, production is carried out using modern manufacturing technology, craftsmanship, and professional quality standards for high-end photographic art and gallery applications.
The works of Expedition in Light are produced as high-quality photographic art behind glossy gallery-grade acrylic glass. You can find the available sizes and formats directly on the respective artwork page.
Yes. Each work is individually produced in your chosen format after your order is received. These are not pre-produced stock items.
The currently available formats can be found directly on the respective artwork page. The artworks are currently offered in:
60 × 40 cm
90 × 60 cm
120 × 80 cm
180 × 120 cm
sizes.
HANGING & CARE
Yes. The piece is manufactured with a suitable aluminum rail on the back for hanging. Screws, wall plugs, or hooks for the wall are not included, as the appropriate mounting hardware depends on the wall type and the weight of the piece. We cannot assess the condition of the wall at the installation site.
The appropriate mounting depends on the format, weight, and condition of the wall. Use only screws, hooks, anchors, or other mounting systems suitable for the respective wall. For hollow or drywall surfaces, for example, special cavity wall anchors may be required.
Particularly with large-format works, we recommend carefully checking the load-bearing capacity of the wall and the mounting system used, or having the installation performed by a professional if necessary.
The weight depends on the specific format as well as the backing structure and suspension. The total weight increases accordingly with size. For secure installation, the wall mounting should therefore always be adapted to the format, weight, and wall condition.
It is best to carefully remove dust with a soft, dry, and lint-free microfiber cloth. Avoid applying strong pressure or using unsuitable cleaning agents – such as glass cleaners or other products that are not explicitly intended for acrylic surfaces and could potentially damage them.
If possible, hang your artwork in a dry, protected place away from constant direct sunlight or intense heat. Areas with high humidity or extreme temperature fluctuations should be avoided.
ORDER & PAYMENT
Production begins upon receipt and processing of your order. Since each work is custom-made in the format you have chosen, these are not pre-produced stock items.
Can I change or cancel my order after it has been placed?
Please contact us immediately if you notice an error after placing your order or if you would like to make a change. Order details are transmitted to our production partners shortly after receipt, and individual production can begin at short notice.
Whether a change or cancellation is still possible therefore depends on the respective processing and production status and cannot be guaranteed. As soon as production has begun, changes are generally no longer possible.
Statutory cancellation and consumer rights remain unaffected by this.
Cancellation or modification is only possible as long as the processing and production status allows. Please contact us immediately.
For any statutory right of withdrawal, the provisions of our cancellation policy and GTC apply exclusively. As every work is individually manufactured after the order is placed, the right of withdrawal may be excluded depending on the legal requirements.
We offer you a wide range of payment options. Which options are specifically available to you may depend in particular on your delivery country and the currency selected.
The currently available payment methods will be clearly displayed for you at checkout.
SHIPPING & DELIVERY
We deliver to the countries currently available in the online shop. You can view the available countries directly via the country and currency selection in the shop. Our delivery area is being continuously expanded.
If your desired delivery country is not currently listed, please contact us. We will be happy to check whether delivery is nevertheless possible.
Delivery time depends in particular on format, production effort, material availability, and destination country. As a rule, delivery takes place within the standard production and shipping period.
In exceptional cases, delivery may be delayed, for example due to special production processes, international transport routes, freight forwarding, customs clearance, or other unforeseeable circumstances.
How much are the shipping costs?
Shipping costs for our artworks are generally already included as a flat rate in the stated selling price.
Should additional costs arise for a specific delivery country, an unusual format, or a special shipping method, these will be displayed transparently before you complete your order.
Every piece is carefully protected for transport and packaged securely according to its format, size, and weight. Large-format works may be shipped individually or in specially adapted packaging for additional protection.
Depending on the country of delivery, format, and shipping method, delivery is carried out by established shipping and logistics partners. For particularly large formats, specialized transport solutions or freight forwarders may be used.
If multiple works are ordered, they may be shipped in separate packages for safety, format, or transport reasons.
The corresponding certificate of authenticity is always sent separately by post and is not included with the artwork shipment. As a result, the artwork and the certificate may arrive at different times.
As soon as your artwork has been dispatched, you will receive a shipping confirmation. Where available for the specific shipment and transport route, you will also receive tracking information.
For international shipments, tracking may be temporarily limited or not continuously available depending on the shipping provider, destination country, or handover to a local transport partner.
Currently, no express or priority production is planned. The items will be manufactured using the regular, fastest possible production route.
Large-format works may require special transport handling. Depending on the size, weight, and delivery country, delivery may be carried out by a specialized transport or logistics provider.
If necessary and possible, a delivery appointment can be arranged before shipment.
For international shipments, additional customs duties, import taxes, levies, or processing fees may apply depending on the destination country, the value of the goods, the country of origin, and the applicable import regulations. Unless expressly stated otherwise in the ordering process, these costs are not included in the purchase price and must be borne by the recipient.

CONSULTING & SERVICES
Yes, certainly. Especially with large-format fine art photography, the format, viewing distance, and spatial effect significantly influence the overall impression.
Simply let us know which piece you are interested in and, if you like, send us a photo of your wall along with the approximate dimensions. We would be happy to assist you in selecting the appropriate format.
Yes, certainly. If you would like to learn more about the origin, edition, format, or execution of a work, simply contact us via our contact page or by email.
Generally yes, upon request. Since the works are created in a 3:2 aspect ratio, any deviation from this requested format must first be checked to see if the subject can be adapted without adversely affecting the visual impact and composition.
Please feel free to contact us with the work and format you are interested in. We will review the possibilities individually and let you know if such an adaptation is feasible.
No. Edition numbers are assigned sequentially and definitively. They serve to uniquely identify the work within the limited edition and are used for documentation in the certificate of authenticity.
It is therefore not possible to freely choose or reserve specific edition numbers.
